About Us

Dear potential Student/Parent, I am just a man who wants to be able to empower ALL people to become the best possible version of themselves. I believe that the attributes one gains from training in karate are imperative in doing so.  I love people, and love karate, so owning my own school was my dream. In 2007 my family stepped up and helped me open my own dojo. I was raised in Irondequoit, met my wife here, bought my first house here, and so far I’ve been teaching karate here for 23 years. So that’s why I named my school Irondequoit Martial Arts, to pay tribute to the town that’s been so good to me. I’m a family man first; I have two super kids, Owen age 10, a junior black belt and Ila age 9, currently a Blue belt. I’m currently a 6th degree black belt and have competed all over the US, Canada and even Japan.  All of that is great but I’m thankful for the opportunity to teach karate in my home town!
